Our Weekend

Yesterday we went to Madison, Georgia.  It's the sweetest town ever, and the town that "Sherman refused to burn" in the Civil War.  All the houses and buildings were built in the early 1800's... now can you find anything like THAT is Arizona???

One of the unfortunate things about only being with your spouse is there's no one to take pictures of you when you go somewhere.  We've thought about hiring someone to follow us through out the week and take pictures of us, but then we'd miss out on these cool single shots.

We're learning that Atlanta is not so friendly, but travel an hour South or North and you'll find where all the real, sweet and hospitable Southerners are.  They wave as you drive by and have signs in front of their stores that personally remind me of my Mom's "Southern Style":

Tonight we ventured out of our cooking comfort zone and made a dish from my Fine Cooking Magazine.  Basically, we cooked a whole, fresh fish in a handmade "oven" or crust made of salt, egg whites and water:

I'm not going to lie- we're pretty dang proud of ourselves for this meal.  It's funny how when you basically grow up together like Brad and I have (at least from age 15 on) most of your new experiences are shared together.  Even small, silly experiences like cooking in a new, different way... but still together.

It was a happy weekend!
